Cinderella comin’ atcha!

they can be described as “mostly-dry”

Were you able to stay dry during the Booster Days parade? If so, you may have caught some of the cast of our upcoming production of Cinderella, a Phipps ballet.

These wonderful folks came out to help us promote our newest Dance Council offering. Do you have your tickets yet? If not, it opens on July 25th, so you’re running out of time!

Emily Trapnell (pictured above) will be playing our “Cinderella,” and she was able to send us the teeny-tiniest Q&A:

How many years have you been dancing?
21 years.

What’s your favorite part about dancing “Cinderella?”
I resonate with the soft and determined nature of Cinderella’s character. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have the chance to play a princess, as well.

Emily Fun Fact:
She has 67 pairs of her old pointe shoes hanging on a curtain rod in her home as decor.

Catch Emily and the other amazing Phipps dancers in the upcoming production of Cinderella, a Phipps ballet!

Open Eye raises eyebrows

there was a lot to point at

For the second-straight year, our pals at Open Eye Theatre made a pitstop in Hudson with one of their “Driveway Tour” mobile puppet shows — The Adventures of Katie Tomatie, to be specific.

The show was moved inside due to the smokey air, but the black box did its job well. We went from 25 in attendance last year to 65 this year, so the Open Eye folks are making a positive impression on Hudson-area kiddos.

After the show, the crew hung out and allowed the audience to explore the puppets more closely. This is something Open Eye has been doing a LONG time, and you can see it in the high-level artistry of these puppets.

The event is 100% free for our patrons — paid for via donations from Phipps friends like you.

Take a look at these faces and tell me it wasn’t worth it. 😊

real dogs are the best but dog puppets are a close second

OPENING RECEPTION!

Adventure Wall of what now?

your name is probably not on this list

The new season officially commenced last Friday evening with an absolutely wonderful performance of Knight, Knight — the hilarious solo show from our friend, Madeliene Rowe.

And since Knight, Knight was the first show in our Adventure Series, we were able to unveil the Adventure Wall of Fame. Yes, we actually put together an Adventure Wall of Fame. For four groups. Five total people.

Well
we all start somewhere, and this is where the Adventure Series started. We’ll look back fondly four years from now when there are 973 people listed on the 10-foot-tall Adventure Wall of Fame.

Storytime: while waiting to enter the theater, a patron in line pointed at the Adventure Wall of Fame and exclaimed “Hey! That’s me!” to which I responded, “Yaaaaay, you made it!” Then they smiled, paused, and said “
I have no idea what I did.”

Aaaaand scene.

Are you the smartest PCA person in town?
